Acoustic Fingerstyle For Beginners

Hey everyone, this week I go through a couple of very simple fingerpicking exercises in the key of G. <--more-->

The chords being used are as follows:

The first pattern is in 6/8 time (count 123456) and uses a thumb, index, middle, ring, middle, index finger order for the picking hand.

The second pattern is in 4/4 time and utilizes a thumb, index, thumb, middle finger order.

Check out the video below for a more in depth explanation on  how to do these patterns.

Thanks for reading and I will see you next time!

Another important consideration is the size of the guitar. Some guitars are too large for the beginner’s hand, while others are too small. When selecting an electric guitar for beginners, it is important to select one that will fit the particular body style of the person playing it. Some electric guitars, such as the Fender Telecaster, will suit beginners with larger hands and wrists.
