CAGED – The Swiss Army Knife Of Guitar
So today I am talking about what is known as the CAGED system.
This is a way of taking the 5 essential open chord shapes (we use major to start but really any chord type works) and using them to dissect the guitar neck into portions to make it easier to learn the fretboard.
Using this approach we can master any scale, arpeggio, and chord shape in multiple positions on the fretboard and turn the fretboard from a mystery to a working part of our music making.
