Bohemian Rhapsody Guitar Riff Lesson
Hey everyone, today in Bohemian Rhapsody Guitar Riff Lesson, we are going over the quarter note, triplet based guitar riff that enters just after the operatic section of this classic tune.
If you are unaware of what a triplet is, it is when 3 notes are played in the space of 2.
In this example from Queen, we are seeing the guitar played in 12/8 time, meaning 12 – 8th notes grouped in
3s are played per measure.
You can play this by feel, but if you really want to nail it, you should learn to count out these quarter note triplets.
The way to do this is to count to 6, the 6 standing for two groups of 8th note triplets.
If you count 1 2 3 4 5 6 and tap your knee or strum your guitar on 1, 3, and 5 you are doing quarter note
triplets which is what this riff is based on.

Happy tripleting!
